Bay Medical Reveals Plan for Healing Garden

Bay Medical unveiled plans for a Healing Garden as part of the hospital’s expansion. Bay Medical’s new patient care tower and main entrance to the hospital will open in early September and will include 144 new private patient rooms.
The Healing Garden will be located in a 10,000-square-foot courtyard between the new building and the current hospital and will be an opportunity for patients, visitors and staff to get away from the hospital setting and relieve stress. It will be visible from many patient rooms and waiting areas and accessible from the main lobby and cafeteria. The garden will include water features, beautiful tropical landscaping, winding walking paths and seating areas.
The Healing Garden also presents an opportunity for the community to be a part of the new hospital through the purchase of engraved brick pavers and flagstones in honor or in memory of a loved one. Proceeds from the purchase of the garden pavers will offset the costs of the new construction.
The Bay Medical Foundation set a goal of $5 million from the community to benefit the expansion and has raised more than $4.6 million to date.
