Breaking Ground

Bay Medical Center broke ground on the much anticipated expansion project Dec.17, 2008, and completed it in late August 2010.

“This expansion will ensure that the needs of the community will be served,” said Chairman of the Bay Medical Board of Trustees Greg Brudnicki who spoke briefly about the community need for this expansion during the groundbreaking ceremony. “We are a not-for-profit hospital. Over the last several years, we have invested over $100 million in state-of-the-art technology and we're going to continue to do that. We’re committed to this project. We’re committed to our employees and we’re committed to our physicians to make this dream come true.”

During the ceremonial groundbreaking, Bay Medical President and CEO Steve Johnson welcomed a crowd of more than 300 guests and explained the importance of this expansion project to the hospital and to the community. Other members of the community, including Panama City Mayor Scott Clemons as well as members of the Bay Medical Board of Trustees, also addressed the crowd.
