Health Dollars & Sense: Free eye exams

Are you in need of an eye exam but not sure how you’re going to pay for it? Check out the EyeCare America program, run by the American Academy of Ophthalmology. If you’re age 65 or older, haven’t been seen by an ophthalmologist in the past three years, don’t belong to a health maintenance organization or have Veterans’ Administration coverage, you could qualify for the program, which offers a free comprehensive eye exam and care for up to one year. Find out more by calling 1-800-222-EYES (3937) or visiting www.eyecareamerica.org/eyecare/care/.
