|Is my child’s health hurt by a busy schedule?|
Children do become overscheduled. Older kids may want to shine up a college application with multiple activities, while younger kids may be encouraged by well-meaning parents to be occupied. But nonstop activity will catch up with your child. He or she may feel anxious, get headaches and suffer academically. All this activity can also cut into family time, as one parent is in charge of running Caitlin to basketball and another shuttles Brian to piano. Set limits on how much gets crammed in and make sure your child knows priorities. And let your child know that it’s OK sometimes to just relax and be a kid.
