The Road to Recovery
Our team of therapists will help you to begin the road to recovery while you are still in the hospital. However, for those who need preventative care or extended rehabilitation and recovery, our services are offered in a convenient outpatient setting at HealthPlex. Our comprehensive team of therapists offer:
Physical therapy
Aquatic therapy
Occupational therapy
Speech therapy
Physical Therapy - Now Available at Two Locations *
Physical therapy utilizes a proactive, team approach to treat orthopedic, neurologic, pediatric, athletic and occupational injuries and illness in patients of all ages.
Our dedicated physical therapists, physical therapy assistants and support personnel help provide comprehensive functional evaluations and treatments for patients with a variety of diagnoses. Using state-of-the-art equipment and the most up-to-date training techniques, our staff works to return patients to their pre-injury status.
* Physical Therapy is available at HealthPlex and at our Bay Medical at the Beach facility located at 11111 Panama City Beach Parkway. Call 850-914-7038 for more information.
Aquatic Therapy
Aquatic therapy can be highly beneficial, both in the rehabilitative process, as well as ongoing treatment for patients facing challenges such as living with arthritis. HealthPlex’s 7,750-gallon warm-water therapy pool has four depth levels for weight-bearing and non-weight-bearing exercise. Aquatic therapy has been proven effective in treating patients with orthopedic injuries, arthritis, fibromyalgia and neurological patients who need balance work.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy provides treatment for individuals-from newborn to geriatric patients-whose lives have been disrupted by physical injury, or illness, developmental problems, or the aging process. The program is designed to help patients regain and build skills needed to perform day-to-day activities, including self care, work, leisure and play. Treatment works to assist each patient in developing strength, coordination, cognitive performance and visual perception to achieve maximal function.
Speech Therapy
Certified and licensed speech-language pathologists at HealthPlex use traditional treatment techniques to treat a wide variety of disorders related to speech, language, and cognitive abilities.
Services provided include the diagnosis and treatment of disorders affecting speech, language, and cognitive abilities such as:
Adult speech and language disorders
Child/adolescent articulation and language disorders
Cognitive, fluency, and voice disorders
Speech and language disorders secondary to stroke, traumatic brain injury, and neurological impairments
Swallowing/feeding disorders (pediatric to geriatric)
Customized Programs
The therapy staff at HealthPlex will do a thorough and complete individualized evaluation and develop a program for your specific needs. You will have the undivided attention of your therapist in one-on-one sessions. Once your rehabilitation is complete, HealthPlex offers a complete fitness program to help you maintain your new active lifestyle in a familiar setting. Membership is reasonable and no long term contract is required.
