Diabetes Education
Proper diabetes care requires frequent contact with your health care professionals. Good diabetes education is the foundation for good diabetes management. Your family members of supportive friends are encouraged to attend each session to learn with you. The Diabetes Center provides Certified diabetes Educator for individual an group sessions. We will work closely with your physician to evaluate your present diabetes management program, and help you improve control of your diabetes by discussing topics such as:
- Diabetes medications
- When to call the physician for problems
- Treating high and low blood sugars
- Managing your diabetes during a minor illness
- Avoiding/coping with the complications of diabetes
- Considerations for exercise
- Managing your diabetes while on vacation/business trips
- Taking proper care of your feet
- Monitoring blood glucose
