The Foundation of Bay Medical Center was founded in 1981 to support the humanitarian efforts of Bay Medical Center and to help the hospital excel as the healthcare provider of choice through effective community awareness and philanthropy.
Since its establishment, the Foundation has raised more than $11.5 million in gifts from this community to help purchase new equipment, support many hospital programs, make renovations to facilities, and to provide healthcare scholarships. Financial contributions to the Foundation are used to promote healing, to improve the quality of healthcare services, and to provide medical treatment to anyone who is in need.
Even with the most skillful and dedicated management, it remains very difficult for a full-service hospital to balance spiraling costs, increasing charity care, and declining reimbursements through patient revenue alone. Bay Medical is a not-for-profit hospital that provides over $30 million in charity and uncompensated care each year without receiving any local tax support. This makes continued charitable giving from our community vitally important.
The Foundation is continually seeking ways in which to meet current challenges that face our institution. One particular goal of the Foundation is to continue to fund our Endowment so it remains a significant funding source for the capital needs of Bay Medical. There are many ways to give which can help Bay Medical continue to provide you, your family, and our community with superior medical care.
