Bay Medical Sacred Heart is home to the Panama City area’s largest and most heavily utilized Emergency Department. It is the only Designated Level II Trauma Center between Pensacola and Tallahassee in Northwest Florida for Bay, Gulf, Washington and Holmes counties. The Emergency Department at BMSH provides 24-hour emergent care for life-threatening injuries and illnesses. The Emergency Room contains three extra-large trauma rooms as well as 28 private treatment rooms including specialized areas for pediatrics, ENT, obstetrics, orthopedics, and psychiatry. Additionally, an eight-bed “Rapid Response” unit provides more rapid assessment and treatment of patients with illnesses and injuries that are not serious or life-threatening.
After you arrive in our Emergency Department, you will be assessed by a triage nurse who will determine the level of care you need. If this assessment indicates a condition that may be critical, you will be seen immediately. We respect your time and we strive to take care of each patient as soon as possible.
Once evaluated by an emergency physician, you will move through the ER process as quickly as possible, seeing physicians, having labs taken and other tests performed as necessary to diagnose and provide you with the highest quality of care in an efficient manner.
With experience you can trust and the best in medical technology, the Bay Medical Sacred Heart Emergency Room provides quality care for life’s big and little emergencies for approximately 70,000 patients annually.
