It is very important if you experience the signs of a heart attack that you call 911 immediately. Paramedics can assess your condition and alert the emergency room to be prepared for your arrival and provide the immediate treatment you need. Bay Medical can receive EKG information from the ambulance while it is en route, which enables our emergency physicians to diagnose a heart attack and prepare the cardiac cath lab before you arrive. Bay Medical is the only area hospital offering open heart surgery. Bay Medical-Sacred Heart is also the only area hospital that requires cardiologists who perform cardiac interventions to be board certified in interventional cardiology.
